June 13th: George Brown Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts Presents 'Uncorked Ontario: Prince Edward County'
On Saturday June 13th, George Brown's Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts will be touring some of the finest wine destinations in The County. We couldn't be more pleased that they have selected us to be their first stop on the tour. As a side note, you do not have to be enrolled in a program at the school to attend; this is a experience any wine lover can buy a ticket for.
A bus will be leaving George Brown at 8 am to ensure you get the most out of your day. This is an excellent way to educate yourself further on Ontario, specifically PEC, as a wine region. Each stop will offer a new experience. Our winemaker will take you around the vineyards and historic winery to share what makes The County so unique. Being one of the founding winemakers, she has a contagious passion for wine and understands the region better than anyone. You'll be served a locally sourced farm-to-table breakfast and lunch paired with our 100% estate grown wines. After this stop, wine enthusiasts will head onward to our neighbours and sparkling wine specialists Hinterland Wine Company. You'll be blown away by the quality of their bubbly. Visitors will even get to try a classic pairing, oysters and sparkling wine. The final stop will be at Norman Hardie. Be ready to try some of The County's finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Wine enthusiasts will be treated to a dinner of wood-oven pizza before getting back on the bus for the return trip.
This is a full day excursion and it is sure to be a memorable one. We hope you take this opportunity to learn more about Ontario's wine regions and further your appreciation for local wine. Click here for more information or to purchase your tickets for this tasting and tour experience.
June 21st: Father's Day
We’d like to wish a Happy Father’s Day to all the hardworking and supportive dads. We know raising a family and working everyday can be a lot to handle, so we’re doing something special for dads at the winery on June 21st. We’re known for our delicious, homemade, locally sourced picnics here at The Grange, so we thought we’d put a Father’s Day spin on them. We will be focusing on what men like most, great food and drinks. For that Sunday only, our picnics will consist of specialty smoked meats and cheeses. We’re even bringing in locally crafted beer just for the occasion. Treat dad to some beer, wine, smoked meat sandwiches and a beautiful view of the vineyards. Relaxing outside on a warm June day is exactly what every dad needs this Father’s Day. Just bring the family and we’ll handle the rest. We highly recommend making a reservation our Father’s Day picnics, as we will have limited quantities only.
If you are not able to make it to the winery, we have compiled a list of some of our favourite BBQ recipes in honour of Father's Day. These recipes focus on using ingredients sourced from Ontario, so you can feel great about supporting local farmers while treating dad to a grilled dinner. Check out the list of Father's Day BBQ recipes and wine pairings here.
As for Father's Day gifts, dads don't really need more ties. If you feel like treating your father to something extra special, our wine clubs make excellent presents. You can't beat the value. For less than the price of a case, dad can receive 4 shipments each including 3 exclusive bottles of our estate grown wines. He will also get winemaker's tasting notes, discounted pricing at the winery and free tours and tastings for himself and 9 other friends. Our next shipment for our wine clubs will be this month, just in time for Father's Day. For more information about our two great clubs, continue reading.
