October 1st - 31st: Philip Dandurand's 'Fractured Grounds' in The Grange's Loft Gallery
PEC has a fabulous art culture. Local artists thrive on the rural inspiration to create beautiful, unique pieces. With over 19 galleries in The County, there is something different for every art enthusiast. To show our support, each month we host a different art gallery in our barn loft. We rotate the art month to month to try to expose people to the local works and artists.
For the month of October, Philip Dandurand's wonderful, new works "Fractured Grounds" will be displayed. Dandurand has an extensive art background; he started out as a photographer, later worked as an art director and now owns a studio here in Prince Edward County. His figurative landscapes and portraits are intriguing yet having a calming presence. Visit his studio, Studio 4814, or come by our loft gallery to view some of his new pieces.

October 10th and 11th: The Grange's Autumn Harvest Party
Exciting news! Due to overwhelming support and feedback for our 2015 Harvest Party and experience, we have decided to make this a two-day event! Since our October 10th date booked up so quickly, we are now offering a second harvest party on Sunday, October 11th! We hope to accommodate the many wine friends on the waiting list and anyone who was not able to make it Saturday. There is always so much to do during the autumn season; we greatly appreciate the many hands who are celebrating the 2015 vintage with us.
On the 11th, we're inviting guests to help by participating first hand in the ultimate experience for wine lovers. Under the guidance of Caroline and Maggie Granger, participants will be taught how to pick and sort grapes while hearing stories of previous harvests. Join us for the day and you will have a new perspective and appreciation for the care that goes into each bottle. A hearty county breakfast and lunch will be provided. Numbers are limited so please RSVP to email@example.com.
October 17th: George Brown's Uncorked Ontario: Harvest Wine Tour
On Saturday October 17th, George Brown's Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts will be doing another tour of some of the finest wine destinations in The County! This time, instead of focusing on grape growing, wine lovers will be learning more about harvest and winemaking in PEC. We are pleased to be the first stop on this day long excursion. As a side note, you do not have to be enrolled in a program at the school to attend; this is an experience any wine lover can buy a ticket for.
A bus will be leaving George Brown at 8 am to ensure you get the most out of your day. Each stop will offer a new experience and will be guided by a wine professional. Guests will be taken through the details of harvest, wine production and what specifically differentiates PEC as a wine region. Our winemaker will take you around the vineyards and historic winery to share what makes The County so unique. Being one of the founding winemakers, she has a contagious passion for wine and understands the region better than anyone. Wine lovers will be served a locally sourced farm-to-table lunch paired with our 100% estate grown wines. After this stop, the bus will head onward to Norman Hardie. Be ready to try some of The County's finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The final stop will be Rosehall Run, where talented winemaker Dan Sullivan will lead guests through a tasting of his state-of-the-art wines. Wine enthusiasts will also get to eat a light meal catered by Picnic PEC, a food truck specializing in local healthy fare, before heading back.
This is a full day excursion and it is sure to be a memorable one. We hope you take this opportunity to learn more about Ontario's wine regions and further your appreciation for local wine. For more information or to purchase tickets for Uncorked Ontario: Harvest Wine Tour, please click here.
